Introduction and FAQ of PPR Electrofusion 45° Elbow Fitting (L63*45°)

Products Description

A new type of core accessory for directed transformation of pipeline systems is the PPR electrofusion 45° elbow fitting (specification: L63*45°). In accordance with the stringent specifications of the ISO 15874 standard, it is integrated injection-molded using food-grade PPR (polypropylene random copolymer) raw materials. Compared to conventional fittings, this device greatly lowers water flow resistance and pressure loss since it is suitable with pipes with a diameter of 63 mm. Its carefully engineered 45° angle allows the pipeline to change direction smoothly. With integrated embedded heating resistance wires, it uses electrofusion welding technology to achieve molecular-level fusion between the fitting and the pipeline, creating a seamless sealing structure and essentially removing leakage risks.

It features convenient and efficient installation and a service life of more than 50 years, providing a more reliable directional connection solution for modern pipeline projects.

Common FAQs about Electrofusion Fittings

Q: What are the core advantages of this L63*45° electrofusion elbow compared with traditional hot-melt elbows?

A: The core advantages lie in connection reliability and compatibility. Traditional hot-melt elbows have extremely high requirements on the operational proficiency of constructors, and improper control of temperature and pressure is likely to cause loose joints. In contrast, this electrofusion elbow achieves automatic and uniform heating through built-in resistance wires without manual temperature adjustment. After welding, it forms an integrated structure, and the joint strength is higher than that of the pipeline itself. Meanwhile, the precisely designed 45° angle is more suitable for pipeline scenarios requiring smooth direction change, reducing water flow impact and noise. It is especially applicable to concealed projects and hot water/heating systems with strict sealing requirements.

Q: How to judge whether the joint is qualified after electrofusion welding?

A: Qualification of the joint can be intuitively judged through three points: First, observe the observation hole of the fitting. After qualified welding, the observation hole will evenly extrude 5-6mm of molten material; excessive or insufficient extrusion indicates abnormal welding parameters. Second, check the appearance of the joint. A qualified joint should have no obvious deformation or scorch marks, and the pipeline and fitting should be closely connected without gaps. Third, manually shake the joint after cooling; no looseness or deviation means it is qualified. It is recommended to cool the joint for more than 30 minutes in accordance with specifications after welding to avoid stress before complete solidification.

Q: What precautions should be taken when constructing PPR electrofusion fittings in the field or low-temperature environments?

A: Construction in low-temperature environments or the field requires focusing on three key protective measures: First, clean up impurities and oxide layers at the interface of the pipeline and fitting in advance to avoid impurities affecting welding tightness. Second, select an electrofusion welding machine with voltage regulation and temperature compensation functions. If the ambient temperature is below -5℃, properly extend the heating time by 10%-20%. Third, optimize power supply and protection. Use 2.5mm² cables when the power source is within 50 meters of the welding machine, and 4mm² cables for 50-100 meters. At the same time, wrap the welding part with thermal insulation materials to reduce heat loss and prevent rapid local cooling caused by direct strong wind.
